Meet Babita: Preschool ECT at Erina Kindergarten
At Erina Kindergarten, our educators play an important role in supporting children as they learn, grow and develop new skills. Today, we’re pleased to introduce Babita, a qualified Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) who works with our Preschool children.
Babita has been part of the Erina Kindergarten team for almost two years and enjoys being part of the children’s everyday learning journey.
Supporting Preschool Learning
As an ECT, Babita enjoys creating learning experiences that are connected to children’s individual interests, goals and learning needs.
Her experiences include:
Creative activities and crafts
Early literacy experiences
Numeracy learning
Experiences based on children's interests
Activities that support children's current learning goals
For Babita, it is rewarding to see how children develop new skills and confidence over time. She enjoys knowing that the experiences she creates can contribute to children's everyday learning and development.
Building Relationships With Families
Babita also values the relationships she builds with families.
Simple conversations during drop-off and pick-up provide opportunities to share information, understand children's experiences and maintain a strong connection between home and kindergarten.
She believes that positive relationships with families are an important part of supporting each child's learning journey.
Learning From a Multicultural Team
One of the things Babita particularly enjoys about working at Erina Kindergarten is being part of a multicultural team of educators.
With educators from different countries and cultural backgrounds, Babita has opportunities to learn from her colleagues and experience different perspectives.
She believes these relationships have helped her continue developing as an educator and broaden her understanding of early childhood education.
Watching Children Grow
For Babita, one of the most rewarding parts of being an educator is simply watching children grow.
From developing new skills to becoming more confident and independent, each child has their own learning journey.
