At Erina Kindergarten, we are proud of the passionate educators who help shape our learning environment and contribute to the strong sense of community that makes our centre so special. One of those educators is Teya, our Events and Sustainability Coordinator, who has been part of the Erina Kindergarten family for more than seven years.

Teya’s journey at Erina Kindergarten began as a trainee while completing her Certificate III qualification. Over the years, she continued her professional development, completing her Diploma and Bachelor of Early Childhood Education while growing into leadership roles within the service. Today, she plays an important role in supporting both our sustainability initiatives and the many community events enjoyed by our children and families throughout the year.

A Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability is a significant part of everyday life at Erina Kindergarten. Our children are provided with opportunities to learn about caring for the environment through practical, hands-on experiences that encourage curiosity and responsibility.

Our sustainability program includes a wide range of experiences and projects, including:

  • Vegetable and herb gardens

  • Composting systems

  • Worm farms

  • Caring for chickens

  • Looking after our bunnies

  • Interacting with our parrots and other animals

  • Nature-based learning experiences

These activities help children develop an understanding of environmental responsibility while building a meaningful connection with the natural world.

Creating Meaningful Family Events

In addition to sustainability, Teya coordinates many of the special events that take place throughout the year at Erina Kindergarten. From seasonal celebrations and family events to community gatherings and educational experiences, these occasions help strengthen the connections between children, families, educators, and the wider community.

Each event is thoughtfully planned to create opportunities for families to engage with their child’s learning journey while creating lasting memories together.

Listening, Learning, and Improving

One of the values that guides our team at Erina Kindergarten is continuous improvement. We actively seek feedback from our families and community to help us reflect on our practices and identify opportunities for growth.

By listening to the experiences and ideas of our families, we can continue to enhance our programs, events, and learning environments to better meet the needs of the children and community we serve.

Supporting Children to Thrive

At Erina Kindergarten, sustainability, community engagement, and meaningful relationships are all important parts of our educational philosophy. Through the dedication of educators like Teya, we continue to create enriching experiences that support children’s learning, development, and wellbeing every day.

We are proud to provide a place where children can explore, discover, connect with nature, and build lifelong memories alongside their friends, families, and educators.
