Meet Eliza: Supporting Early Learning Through Sensory Experiences at Erina Kindergarten

At Erina Kindergarten, we are proud to have passionate educators who are committed to supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing during their early years.

Today, we would like to introduce Eliza, one of our dedicated educators in the Babies Room, who is currently completing her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

A Passion for Working with Young Children

Eliza loves spending time with children and creating meaningful interactions that support their growth and development. Working in the Babies Room, she understands the importance of providing a warm, engaging, and supportive environment where children feel encouraged to explore and discover.

For Eliza, one of the most rewarding parts of being an educator is watching children reach new milestones, develop confidence, and learn through everyday experiences.

Learning Through Sensory Experiences

Recently, Eliza was recognised as Educator of the Week for her creative sensory experience featuring Mr. Sheep 🐑.

This experience was designed to support the children’s current learning project about animals while encouraging exploration through their senses. Through touching, observing, and interacting with different materials, children were able to investigate new textures, develop curiosity, and engage with their learning in a hands-on way.

Sensory experiences are an important part of early childhood learning, especially for babies and young children. They help support the development of:

• Fine motor skills

• Language and communication

• Problem-solving abilities

• Curiosity and confidence

• Understanding of the world around them

At Erina Kindergarten, our educators carefully plan experiences that connect with children’s interests and developmental needs, helping learning happen naturally through play.

Continuing the Journey as an Educator

As Eliza continues her Cert III traineeship, she is passionate about expanding her knowledge and exploring new ways to support children’s learning.

She enjoys creating different experiences for children and looks forward to continuing her professional growth as part of the Erina Kindergarten team.
