At Erina Kindergarten, we are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of our educators and recognise the passion and dedication they bring to early childhood education every day.

This year, we are delighted to share that Emma from our Babies Room has been nominated for the EECE Excellence Awards – Cert III Trainee of the Year.

A Journey Inspired by Motherhood

Emma’s path into early childhood education has been both inspiring and meaningful.

Before joining the early childhood sector, Emma spent ten years working as a hairdresser. It was after becoming a mother and watching her own children grow, learn, and develop during their early years that she discovered a new passion.

Experiencing those incredible milestones and seeing the impact that nurturing relationships have on children’s development inspired Emma to pursue a career in early childhood education.

“Working with children has been the most amazing experience. It is so rewarding to witness all the little steps and changes as they grow and develop.”

Building Meaningful Relationships

For Emma, positive relationships are at the heart of everything she does.

She believes that simple gestures can make a significant difference—sharing a smile, warmly greeting families, getting down to a child’s level, and making eye contact all help children feel welcomed, valued, and connected.

By creating meaningful interactions and developing trusting relationships with children and families, Emma helps build a positive and supportive learning environment where children feel comfortable to explore and learn.

A Passion for Sensory Learning

As an educator in the Babies Room, Emma is passionate about providing sensory experiences that encourage young children to discover the world around them.

Sensory play allows babies to explore through:

  • Touch

  • Sound

  • Smell

  • Movement

  • Visual experiences

These hands-on experiences play an important role in supporting children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development during the early years.

At Erina Kindergarten, our Babies Room provides a variety of engaging sensory experiences that encourage curiosity, exploration, and meaningful learning through play.

Looking Towards the Future

Emma is passionate about continuing her own professional learning journey.

As she completes her Cert III qualification, she hopes to continue straight into her Diploma and further expand her knowledge and skills as an educator.

She believes that early childhood education is an ever-evolving profession, and that continuing to learn allows educators to provide the very best experiences and outcomes for children.

Congratulations, Emma!

We are incredibly proud of Emma and her nomination for the EECE Excellence Awards – Cert III Trainee of the Year.

Her dedication, warmth, and commitment to supporting children and families make a positive impact on our kindergarten community every day.

Congratulations, Emma, on this well-deserved recognition. We look forward to supporting you on your continuing journey in early childhood education and celebrating all that you achieve in the years ahead.
